I first came across the serene and beautiful jewelery designed by Sally Shaw Baker while perusing one of my favorite design sites Little Willow . Sally’s work speaks to the joy and sense of pride that comes from doing what you love. Her use of color and line resonate with that part of me which yearns for an hour or so of uninterrupted peace and meditation. For the beauty of the work she sells at Enjoy This Treat alone I would be a fan but I’m even more of one because Sally is supporting an incredibly important cause.
In December I mentioned the Fight With Tyler collection. Created by Sally and sold through Enjoy This Treat, the Fight With Tyler collection serves as a fund raiser for local landscape architect Tyler Manchuck who is currently battling cervical adenocarcinoma. Tyler has been fighting against the cancer since 2008 and in order to help offset some of the costs not covered by health insurance all proceeds from the Fight With Tyler line go directly to Tyler. Recently updated the collection offers strong, unique pieces that, for under $20, can add a little treat to your jewelry wardrobe. They make a great gift (hint, hint) and support a very worthwhile cause.
